FOCOS mission is to provide comprehensive, affordable orthopaedic care to those who would not otherwise have access to such treatment. Specifically, we strive to improve accessibility to top-notch surgical and non-surgical care for patients who suffer from debilitating musculoskeletal conditions, such as complex spine deformities and pediatric orthopaedic problems, in underserved areas. It all began as a dream of the founder to see the best care reach the underserved in his native country, Ghana and the sub-Saharan region.
FOCOS operates with donations and sponsorships raised through fundraising efforts in the USA and Ghana. Since its inception, FOCOS has received close to $30 million from over 15,000 donors. These funds have been used to provide support to patients and the construction of the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital located in Accra, Ghana.
The FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital has 60 beds and was established in 2012. It is accredited to provide inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital has advanced facilities such as Radiology, Laboratory, and Physiotherapy departments.
