The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) is a state-owned company responsible for the distribution and sale of electricity in southern Ghana. ECG was incorporated in 1963 and became a limited liability company in 1997. It distributes electricity across six operational regions: Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Volta, and Western Regions. ECG constructs, installs, maintains, and operates sub-transmission stations and electrical installations. It serves millions of residential, commercial, and industrial customers and is the primary distribution utility in Ghana's power sector.
