The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is Ghana's National Oil Company (NOC), established in 1983 by PNDC Law 64. GNPC is mandated to explore, develop, produce, and dispose of petroleum resources on behalf of the Government of Ghana. It is partner in all petroleum agreements in Ghana and serves as the national gas sector aggregator. GNPC played a key role in the discovery of oil in commercial quantities in the Jubilee fields in 2007 and the commencement of commercial production in December 2010. The corporation has a staff strength of over 500 and is headquartered at Petroleum House, Tema.
